Warren, Ohio is known as the "Historic Capital of the Western Reserve". It was founded in 1798 by Ephraim Quinby who purchased 441 acres of land from the Connecticut Land Company as part of the Connecticut Western Reserve. Quinby chose to name the town for the surveyor, Moses Warren. The town became the county seat of the Western Reserve, and later the county seat of Trumbull County in 1801.
Through the 1800s Warren became a central location of farm trade, and as the railroads came through town, a major industrial hub. Warren was the first town in the US to have electric street lighting.
The 1900s saw a boom in the steel industry in Warren, and later it's decline.
Today, Warren is your average midwest town, with plenty of history to share.
