Veterans Memorial Park is a portion of Airport Park in Matamoras, PA. It is dedicated in honor of the men and women who have served our country, from the freezing cold of Valley Forge to the blazing plains of southwestern Asia. Veteran’s Memorial Park & Recreation Center features a collection of monuments honoring our fallen warriors, as well as the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The park also has a monument dedicated to the Vietnam Moving Wall, which has visited Matamoras on several occasions. In the center of the park’s entrance, are three flagpoles; the center pole flies an American Flag, while the two other poles fly the Pennsylvania Flag and POW/MIA Flag. There are benches throughout the park where visitors are invited to sit in quiet reflection.
