Union Station

The first train pulled into Union Station on September 1, 1894 at 1:45 pm. Union Station would become one of the largest and busiest passenger rail terminals in the world. Its highest traffic was during the 1904 World’s Fair and World War II with over 100,000 passengers traveling through the station a day. The Station was reopened in 1985 as a mixed-use complex featuring retail shops, event spaces and restaurants. In 2020, the station saw another major change as an aquarium, Ferris wheel, ropes course, soda fountain, and more all opened at Union Station. This lab adventure will take you on a walking tour of the area. Note, the stage inside the conservation center is available 9AM - 5PM. Fire and light shows can be seen at the Grand Hall and Koi Pond; see each stage for more information.
