The Park Centre for Mental Health is a heritage listed psychiatric hospital. The hospital provides a range of mental health sevices including extended inpatient care, research, education and a high security psychiatric unit. It's also been known as Goodna Mental Hospital, Woogaroo Lunatic Asylum, Goodna Hospital for the Insane, Wolston House and the Park Hospital Complex are an important part of the evolution of Queensland history. The Woogaroo Asylum was founded by the Queensland government as the first publicly funded mental health institution in the early 1860's and by the 1950's became the largest such institution of its kind in QLD and also in Australia.
