Sybil Ludington's Ride

This is a short driving tour of the infamous ride of Sybil Ludington. You'll be invited to travel a small portion of the route she took on her infamous lifesaving Revolutionary ride. She started from home and ended nearby at her family Mill. She and her faithful horse rode all through the night with her father, the Colonel's, permission. Having received word from a messenger that the British troops were en route to burn the town of Danbury, Sybil volunteered for this life saving mission. Riding over 40 miles alerting all the militia men in their homes along the way to muster and march to do their best to ward off the British. Please allow a little over an hour for this walking/driving expereince, seeing some of the historical markers and landmarks commemorating her heroic journey, one of the major local highlights of the Revolutionary War.
