Seneca Nation of Indians

The Seneca tribe of Western NY is one of three federally recognized Seneca entities in the U.S. The Seneca's are the westernmost of the six Native American nations and are known as the "keeper of the Western Door". In Seneca language they are known as O-non-dowa-gah - Great Hill People. The Seneca are a group of Indigenous Iroquoian speaking people native to North America. The Seneca Allegany Resort and Casino is owned by the Seneca Nation of Indians and it sits nestled in the foothills of the Allegany Mountains. It compliments the picturesque natural surroundings of the region and tells the rich cultural narrative of the Seneca Nation. The common thread that unifies the property is the Seneca Nation's deeply rooted reverence for the natural environment. Themes of sky, mountains, woodlands, wind and fire are expressed throughout. The reflective blue glass that wraps the hotel tower represents water (Allegany River), the sky and by reflection - the surrounding woodlands.
