McLaren Park is San Francisco’s second-largest park at 313 acres. It contains something for everyone: 6 playgrounds, 5 picnic areas, tennis and basketball courts, an amphitheater, a golf course, a lake, an off leash dog play area, baseball fields and a great view of the city, east bay and peninsula. In 2013 a new trail was established, Philosopher’s Way, a 2.7 mile loop trail with 14 “musing stations” along the way. On this adventure you will walk or bike some sections of the trail, but if you have time, it’s a great way to extend your experience at this park.
