This Adventure Lab will take you on an auto tour of significant locations in and around Manassas, VA. This AL will introduce you to historical sites involving the Civil War and Old Town Manassas. Manassas is a town in Northern Virginia. It's known for the Manassas National Battlefield Park, site of major Civil War battles. In July 1861, the first major land battle of the Civil War happened here. In 1862, Manassas Junction was little more than a railroad crossing, but a strategic one, with rails leading to Richmond (VA), Washington, DC, and the Shenandoah Valley. Following the war, the crossroads grew into the town of Manassas. This tour will take you to five locations. The stages should only be done during the day.
