Laumeier Sculpture Park - Eastern Woodlands

Laumeier Sculpture Park is one of the first and largest dedicated sculpture parks in the country. It is a great place to get outside to take a walk and enjoy the interesting sculptures that have been placed on the grounds. On this particular adventure you will traverse wooded trails, exploring just a small portion of this large park. It will only take about 15 minutes so you may also want to visit the other adventures available in the park. The starting coordinates lead you to a good parking area to start your adventure. The park is open daily from 8 am to 30 minutes past sunset. By the way, since I was never sure, the correct pronunciation is "Lau", rhyming with "cow", and "meier", rhyming with "fire". It was named after Henry and Matilda Laumeier, the last owners and residents of the property. Since Henry Laumeier's ancestors emigrated from Germany the traditional German pronunciation of his surname is used.
