Kirton in Lindsey - A History Tour

This short walk around the market town of Kirton in Lindsey will take you to some of it's many interesting places learning a little of it's history as you go. We will take you to 5 locations around the town, each with a clue leading to a physical bonus cache upon completion. Kirton in Lindsey is a small town with a population of approximately 2,873. It straddles an escarpment, known as the Lincoln Edge, surrounded by farmland and overlooking the River Trent Valley to the West. The church was built on the lower elevation among scattered groups of cottages and houses with generous gardens in contrast to the Market Place which is positioned at the top of the hill among continuous terraces with several timber shopfronts. The town also has a garden centre, a fire station, a railway station and a working windmill. The walk should take you about an hour. Free car parking can be found in the Market Place.
