Goshen History Tour

The Town of Goshen in Orange County New York boasts a long and varied history with many interesting places.. Many of these are located in the Church Park Historic District. It is is centered on a triangular area in the center of the village. It contains historic spots that highlight topics from horse racing to county government. The 1841 Courthouse, the old and new county buildings and the "Lawyers' Row" section (characterized by late Federal, Greek Revival and Victorian office buildings) reflect the importance of this area as the political and judicial hub of Orange County. The original bluestone sidewalks remain intact throughout most of the district. This tour will explore many of these historic locales.
