Historic Uptowne Galion

Welcome to Galion, Ohio! Early pioneers first started arriving in this area around 1817. The name Galion was suggested by the first postmaster, and it was accepted. This is the only city in the United States named Galion. Some of the buildings that you will see as you complete this Adventure Lab are restored and exist from the late 1800s and early 1900s. You will start your tour at the Galion Public Library, which is a Carnegie Library, then head East to the Big Four Train Depot. Then as you walk west on Harding Way, you can browse unique shops and restaurants. Your next stop is at the old Central Hotel with it’s ornate architecture . Next, you will visit The Galion Theatre, where live stage shows are performed by local talent each year. A block south will bring you to Brownella Cottage, home to Bishop and Ella Brown that houses a museum run by the Galion Historical Society. It should take less than 1 hour. This is the preferred order. I have removed the sequential requirement.
