Historic Fallasburg Village

The historic village of Fallasburg, Michigan was settled in 1837 by two brothers from New York, John and Silas Fallas. By 1850, it was a prosperous town with over 100 inhabitants. At one time, it offered a hotel and an inn that served as a regular stop on the stagecoach route between Grand Rapids and Ionia. There was a sawmill, a grist mill, and other stores and shops. Today's village includes 42 acres along the banks of the Flat River; a covered bridge; one-room schoolhouse; the Fallas House and Misner House museums; the Orlin Douglass/Tower Farm; and a village cemetery. Fallasburg Village was designated a Historical District with the National Register of Historic Places on March 31, 1999. Park at the given coordinates, and come explore this historic place. Visit each stop for the clue you will need. You will not need to go inside the buildings, though if the buildings are open, enjoy them! This adventure is easily experienced on foot, about a half mile walk, though you may drive if need be.
