Råbjerg Mile

Råbjerg Mile is Denmark's largest moving dune, and one of the largest in Europe. The mile is a mini-desert of almost one square kilometer, it holds 4 million cubic meters of sand. The mile moves each year about 15 meters in a northeasterly direction. Råbjerg Mile started moving at Skagerak 300-400 years ago, and it is expected to disappear into the Kattegat in approx. 200 years. Råbjerg Mile was chosen into Denmark's Nature Canon in 2018, and you can easily understand why, once you have visited this unique place. The trip is approx. 4 km long and takes between 1 and 1,5 hours. You can decide the route around yourself, but we recommend following our route. P-coordinate can be found in the associated bonus "Bonus AL Råbjerg Mile", where you also can get information about the degree of difficulty, attributes etc.
