✈︎✈︎ Douglas Airplane Factory ✈︎✈︎

This Adventure celebrates the aviation history of Long Beach, where aviation pioneer Donald W. Douglas built his factory and built close to 15,000 airplanes, from the famous DC-3 to the very large jetliners such as the DC-10 and MD-11. The adventure will take you around the former Douglas Aircraft Co. factory complex, all stages are wheel chair accessible. This adventure supplements the ✈︎✈︎✈︎ Douglas ✈︎✈︎✈︎ geocache series located in this area. While Douglas merged with McDonnell and became McDonnell-Douglas (MD), which then later merged with Boeing, local employees and retirees still only refer to the "Douglas" heritage. Come visit this historic place where once over 40,000 men and women (including many Rosie the Riveters) worked to produce flying machines at the Douglas Defense Plant. At each location you will be provided information which is saved in a Journal Entry. Use the Journals to solve the location of ✈︎✈︎✈︎ Douglas Park - BONUS Cache ✈︎✈︎✈︎ (GC84DPC) which will be within walking distance.
