Chedworth is known for the Roman villa and the mosaic floors that have been found there, however the history surrounding Chedworth is rich in other ways.
There are the working histories of the railway line and the RAF airstrip as well as the potential pagan history.
This area has interested me for a number of years but I am not local so there is no puzzle cache.
National Trust parking is available year round on the approach road to the villa, during the months when Chedworth is open (the Villa is closed during winter) there is a car park just off the approach road in addition to the road parking available.
Alternatively there is limited parking by the church in Chedworth that is available when there is not a 'divine service'. The walk is a circular walk but can be started in either location.
This walk can be very muddy and slippy along some steeper parts. Depending on your route there is a diversion permitted by the farm due to the muddiness, but there are still muddy areas to it.
Enjoy!
