Caistor Through the Ages

Caistor is situated on the northern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The long-distance footpath, the Viking Way, runs through the centre of the town. Caistor's signs describe it as a Georgian town and, indeed, you will find many Georgian buildings but its origins date back to the Roman times. This tour will hopefully give you a brief history of the town and take you to some interesting spots. The places you will visit cover a range of historical periods. Along the way, we will try to give you some information about other sites you may pass. Three of the five locations are in close proximity with a fourth a short walk away. You may wish to drive to the fifth location. Locations may be visited in any order but we recommend starting at the Old Fire Station. While you are visiting these locations, look out for the additional clues you need to find the 'Caistor Through the Ages' bonus cache (GC8XCRK). The information you need to gather can be found in the bonus cache listing. Good luck and enjoy the tour.
