Kirkby Lonsdale is a small, historic market town and ancient settlement. Romans, Saxons, Normans and Danes all left their mark, and it was in the Domesday Book of 1086. 17th to 19th Century buildings now accommodate inns, restaurants and shops. Wandering around the town, it is easy to imagine what it was like 200 years ago!
Parking - There is free on-street parking on Fairbank (B6254) and Devil’s Bridge - both sides - cars (tight spaces) & m/bikes only. East side – (plus snack van) – m/bikes only on weekends & Bank Holidays. Across the A683 is a one-way road with parking for all vehicles. There is 1 hour on-street parking in the town, and paid parking in New Road with wheelchair bays.
Toilets – credit card access – at Devil’s Bridge and Jingling Lane – with wheelchair access, and at Booths supermarket.
This Adventure Lab is about 2 km around the centre. Wheelchair / pushchair friendly, but with some narrow pavements.
We hope you enjoy wandering around the streets and alleyways as much as us.
