Behind the Scenes at Columbia Springs

Have you ever been to the old Vancouver Trout Hatchery? Then you've been to Columbia Springs! We are 100 acres of lush, forested green space in the heart of Vancouver. Our goal is to plant the seeds of a love of local nature that grows into making a difference. This adventure takes you on a behind the scenes tour of our site. Have you ever thought about why macroinvertebrates are so important? Or about why invasive species are so widespread? Learn about these things and more on this adventure! During non-COVID times, we host field trips for over 6,000 school children each year, and offer sustainable living workshops, guided hikes and tours, fairs and festivals, and more for all-ages to enjoy. Our facility is open for free daily, from dawn to dusk. With over 2 miles of walking trails, two lakes, and plenty of wildlife, it's the perfect place to "get away from it all" without leaving town! Furry friends (on a leash) are welcome. We look forward to seeing you soon! This Adventure is sponsored.
