It is September 17, 1862, the bloodiest day of battle in U.S. history. You are an aspiring intelligence officer in the Confederate Army, and the Union has your troops outflanked and heavily outnumbered. Will you be able to gather key information and help save the Army of Northern Virginia from decimation? For more details, read on, or open Stage 1 and watch the video. Explore Antietam National Battlefield and earn finds for all ten stages of this lab adventure. Before you go, print this guide: http://dcagames.com/r/a.pdf and make the included cipher disk. Allow at least 90 minutes. It can be completed along the park's self-guided 8.5-mile auto tour (see map in field guide). Do the stages in order. At the first seven stages, locate and interpret information. You'll need to be able to recognize wayside markers, tablets, and mortuary cannons. The final stages involve interactive puzzles. Consult https://www.nps.gov/anti for hours & admission. Respect the park and leave no trace.
