Acworth—A Train Runs Through It!

Welcome to beautiful, historical downtown Acworth, Georgia! The Adventure can be completed as part of a nice walk downtown. Driving is not necessary—until the bonus cache. Completion of this Adventure rewards you with the final coordinates for GC8ZNVX, "Acworth Adventure Labs BONUS CACHE"! Acworth's nickname is "The Lake City," but the locals will tell you it is known for having a train track run through the middle of downtown. Located in Cobb County, Acworth is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The estimated population is 20,425 (2019). The city is located in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains along the southeastern banks of Lake Acworth and Lake Allatoona on the Etowah River. The Western and Atlantic Railroad was completed through the town in 1840. A watering station for the locomotives was established there. Be careful crossing streets and tracks!
