This trail will take you to see some of the best views and historical sites of Menai Bridge (Porthaethwy in Welsh). This small town is the gateway to the island of Anglesey via the Menai Suspension Bridge which links the mainland at Bangor to the Island. The world famous bridge was built in 1826 by Thomas Telford. Menai Bridge is the fifth largest town on the island.
There are many small islands near the town, including Church Island. The Menai Heritage Bridges Exhibition celebrates both the Menai Suspension Bridge and the second Menai crossing, the Britannia Bridge, built by Robert Stephenson.
