El Castillo de Santa Bárbara está encaramado en la cima del monte Benacantil y se alza como una de las fortalezas medievales más grandes de España, ofreciendo excelentes vistas de la perfecta bahía de Alicante. Tiene tres recintos diferentes de tres períodos distintos: El recinto superior, “La Torreta”, del siglo XIV. El recinto de nivel medio, que alberga los edificios más importantes y que fueron construidos en el siglo XVI. Y el recinto inferior, que alberga el revellín Revellín del Bon Repós del siglo XVIII. *** The Castle of Santa Bárbara is perched on top of Mount Benacantil and stands one of Spain’s largest mediaeval fortresses, providing great views of Alicante’s perfect bay. It has three different enclosures from three distinct periods: The upper enclosure, “La Torreta”, from the 14th century. The mid-level enclosure is home to the most important buildings, which were built in the 16th century. And the lower enclosure where is home to the Revellín del Bon Repós from the 18th century.
