Highlights of Reno

Reno was officially established in 1868, the same year that the transcontinental railroad, which paralleled the Truckee River, reached the town. In 1874. Dubbed “the biggest little city in the world,” Reno is famous for its casinos, and is the birthplace of the gaming corporation, Harrah's Entertainment. Reno is the county seat and largest city of Washoe County and sits in a high desert river valley at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
