A Walk In The Garden

This adventure will bring you on a walk around Kilmacurragh Arboretum, a hidden gem located in the Garden of Ireland. Kilmacurragh is an important and historic garden managed by the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland. The gardens were founded in 1712 as part of the Acton family estate who owned the land up until till 1940. There is free access to the gardens and there are also guided tours available. The old cobbled road to Wexford taken by Cromwell’s men in the 1600s still runs through a great avenue of oaks and can be still walked on today. Kilmacurragh is particularly famous for its conifers and rhododendron collections. You will also find GC2129N en route also, The opening hours (subject to change) are: Winter (October 27 to mid-Feb) Mon-Sun 9:00-16:30 Summer (mid-Feb to October) Mon-Sun 09:00-18:00
