The City of Atlanta established Oakland Cemetery on six acres of farmland at the edge of town in 1850. Additional land was purchased to accommodate the growth of the booming railroad crossroad and the need to lay 6,900 Civil War soldiers to rest, bringing Oakland to its present-day 48 acres. As a municipal cemetery, Oakland is the permanent home to 70,000 people of all distinction, from the renowned and wealthy elite to ordinary citizens. This Adventure Lab will bring you to the final resting spot of several citizens spread throughout the property.
