Historic Fort Washington Adventure Lab

Take a tour of historic Fort Washington, a 200 year old fort built to defend our coastal waterways from naval invasion. Fort Washington replaced the first fort built here, Fort Warburton. Fort Warburton was a small, 13-gun fort. After the British invaded Bladensburg and burned the Capitol, when six British Warships moved up the Potomac toward the fort, the American commander destroyed, then abandoned it rather than surrender. Plans to replace the fort began just 15 days after the destruction of Fort Warburton. The current fort was completed in October, 1824. As you tour the fort you will discover many things about how the fort functioned. You can only imagine what life was like for the soldiers who lived here! The answers to each of the questions can be found on the informational signs at the coordinates. The title of the correct sign will be same as the title of the question. Read the notes displayed after each question is answered; you will need to record the codes in order to find the bonus cache.
