Celem Instytutu jest zachowanie spuścizny i propagowanie nauczania Prymasa Tysiąclecia poprzez materiały archiwalne, działalność wydawniczą i naukową, prowadzenie działań edukacyjno-wychowawczych. Jak sami piszą – Mądrość jego nauki jest bowiem skarbem nie na jedno pokolenie.
