Welcome to the Meadowood Special Recreation Management Area located in Lorton Virginia, on the northern part of Mason Neck. This park offers 13.4 miles of hiking trails, 7 miles of horseback riding trails, and 6.6 miles of mountain biking trails. It is the site of 2 fishing ponds, 800 acres of forest and meadows, environmental education programs, equestrian facilities, geocaching, and bird watching. In this Adventure lab, you’ll learn about the history of this park, explore the many scenic trails, and changing landscape, and hopefully come across the many wildlife which makes their home in this park. Collect the keywords at each stage to unlock the Meadowood Hike Adventure Lab Bonus cache (GC9AA12). Significant hike (~6 miles round trip) if you hike to all of the stages and the bonus cache. The five locations can be visited in any order. Locations east-to-west route is highly recommended for the bonus cache. Parking is available on site.
