ECALT - The Santa Claus

Part of the Erie Canal Adventure Lab Trail at www.eriecanaladventurelabtrail.org. Albion, New York was home to Charles W. Howard who appeared from 1948 to 1965 as Santa Claus in the Macy's Day Parades. In 1937 he started the first Santa Claus School to train recruits on how to properly portray the man in the red suit. There are many tributes to Charles Howard throughout the village because of his association with Santa.
