Lynn Valley Trail hike

The Lynn Valley Trail is located on a former rail line which was established along the pioneer river trail in 1873. The rail line was abandoned in 1988 and the 10 km trail connects the business districts of Simcoe and Port Dover. Examples of Carolinian flora and fauna may be found along the trail and you may catch site of cardinals, bluebirds and red-tailed hawks as well as chipmunks, deer, raccoons, turtles and frogs. Depending on when you go you may also see multi-flora rose, skunk cabbage, trilliums, lobelias, white snakeroot, Grass of Parnassus, asters, grasses and goldenrod.
