Welcome to Belltown!
This Seattle neighborhood was named after William Nathaniel Bell, on whose initial 320-acre land claim in 1852 it was built. Several of the streets and buildings here were named after family members Virginia, Olive, Austin, Stewart and of course, Bell. The 1897-1911 regrade flattening of Denny Hill gave way to the Belltown and Denny Triangle areas.
From millionaires to the Millionair's Club and high-rise homes to the homeless, Belltown retains a high Walk Score and has a current reputation that ranges from sketchy to artsy to trendy to yuppie. This tour seeks to show a unique perspective of the 5 Elements Of Nature in an urban environment.
The tour should take ~1 hour. Street parking is available at all locations but please note Monday-Saturday 8am-8pm it's pay to park - by phone or pay station. Rates when Lab was published are 50 cents or $1/hour depending on time of day. You are encouraged to first stay safe and other options are to ride your bike or hop public transportation.
