Qatar Museums

Qatar hosts spectacular museums in terms of content, architecture, and interactivity. Quick visits to orient yourself can be done in one day. Some are walkable but there is also a pink shuttle bus that runs between MIA, the Museum of Islamic Art and Mathaf, the Arab Museum of Modern Art. During the World Cup, the free Mathaf shuttle bus will operate daily between 10 am until 7:30 pm with stops at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Qatar National Library, the Fire Station, the National Museum of Qatar, the Museum of Islamic Art, and the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum. Some of the museums will close due to match traffic, so if you want to visit, call or check the website before going. The Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani museum is also well worth a visit. The collection is vast, with over 1,000 motor vehicles, clothing, archeological & geological specimens, wooden pearling and fishing ships, armor & arms, Q’rans, jewelry, carpets and a traditional Syrian house.
