Ft. Montgomery Part 2

Use parking waypoints provided on GC8793P. Welcome back! Put your boots on and enjoy the scenery. Please note: There is no reason to cross 9W on foot from hikers parking area. The museum ground trail heads will lead you to where you need to go. Do Not attempt to activate questions from a vehicle. This tour was inspired by the late "WoodenNickle4U", who referred to this as the "5 bridges hike". It will take you under the Popolopen Bridge on 9W, over the Popolopen Creek Bridge connecting Forts Montgomery and Clinton , over a small footbridge built by volunteers, under the Bear Mountain Bridge, and on up towards the toll plaza. You may also be treated to a freight train going over the rail bridge or a ship passing by while you are here. This journey should take less than an hour, with enough time to remain parked off of Blauvelt Rd, which is my intention, but you may choose all day/year parking 1/4 mile north of Ft. Montgomery Museum, which is only open to vehicles in the warmer seasons.
