#18 NY - Upstate New York Cities

Everyone knows about New York City, the largest city in the United States. But did you know that if it were a separate state, Upstate NY (which for the purpose of this I will define as north of Putnam and Rockland counties despite the above image, people always debate the definition of upstate vs downstate) would have about 7 million people and be more or less tied with Massachusetts as the 16th largest state by population. This is because contrary to popular belief, Upstate NY is not entirely rural but has many cities of significant size; while they do not approach the size or influence of the vast NY City metro area, they each have their own importance and charms. This AL will focus on five significant cities in upstate New York.
