Werribee South Views

Werribee South is a rural suburb of the City of Wyndham, about 32km south-west of the Melbourne CBD. Werribee South features extensive market gardens, settled by mainly Italian immigrants after WWII. The gardens are irrigated by water from the Werribee River in a channel system pioneered by the Chaffey Brothers, who also developed irrigation schemes around Mildura and Renmark. Since 2007, this river water irrigation has been supplemented by the Werribee Irrigation District Recycled Water Scheme. At the mouth of the Werribee River are boat launching facilities, a jetty, a playground and BBQs. Further around the coast there is a small beach, a Coast Guard base, a caravan park and small shopping centre. The area also features the up-market marina development Wyndham Harbour. This Adventure Lab takes you on a tour of five sites taking in views of the River, the Bay, the You Yangs and, in the distance, the Melbourne CBD. After completing the five locations, you will be given the coordinates for a bonus cache.
