ECALT: Meet Me in the Middle(port)

Welcome to Middleport!! Settlers began moving into Middleport around 1808, ahead of the canal opening in 1825. It was originally known as Tea Pot Hollow and incorporated into the Village of Middleport in 1872. The village has a total area of 0.9 square miles, and includes parts of the towns of Royalton and Hartland. There is ample public parking in the village. You may park on the street, or in the public parking lot behind the fire/police department. Enjoy your tour of Middleport and hopefully you will learn something along the way, as I did while putting this together! Find more Erie Canal ALs at http://www.eriecanaladventurelabtrail.org
