Herning is located in Midtjylland and is the capital city of Herning municipality. The city is the fourth largest in the Region of Midtjylland and has 50,039 inhabitants (2019) including the suburbs of Tjørring, Snejbjerg, Birk, Hammerum and Gjellerup, which through industrial districts, have grown together with the main town itself.
