DeKorte Park--Nature Thriving in the Meadowlands

Richard W. DeKorte Park is a spectacular place to learn about and enjoy nature in the Meadowlands. There are over 3 miles of accessible trails with informational signs that highlight the wildlife and ecosystems of its tidal waters, marshes and uplands. Located along the Atlantic Flyway, DeKorte Park is a nationally recognized birding hotspot, with a wonderful variety of birds year round. This Adventure will take you along the Shorewalk, Marsh Discovery, and Transco Trails, and to the Lyndhurst Nature Reserve. This tour can be completed in less than an hour. Trail guides are available at a kiosk near the Lyndhurst Nature Reserve. Catch and release fishing is permitted in designated areas. Please note: The buildings are closed except for special events, but there is a portable toilet in the parking lot. Also, no dogs or bikes are allowed on the Marsh Discovery Trail.
