Murtoa

Welcome to Murtoa, the heartland of the Wimmera with views of the Grampians as a stunning backdrop. The name Murtoa is thought to have been derived from an Aboriginal word meaning 'home of the lizard' from the Jaadwa language. Many large lizard sculptures feature around the centre of town, so keep an eye out for them. The small wheatbelt town is home to a number of important local industries and the only National Heritage Listing in the Wimmera - The Stick Shed.  Murtoa is rich in history which other Heritage attractions are a testament to. This Adventure Lab will take you to just a few of those historical locations, highlighting the architecture and the farming history. Don't forget to collect the clues from each completed journal entry for the Bonus Cache - GC9TM8V
