Hampton RSL Memorials

The Hampton RSL Sub Branch was officially formed in 1945 by taking over from the Hampton Returned Soldiers Association founded by war veterans who returned from World War I. Originally established in Hampton Street, in 1952 the trustees purchased a large house call ‘Wearside’ at 25 Holyrood Street Hampton and have been at that location ever since. In recognition of the original house, the main bar of the current premises is called the Wearside Bar. While the primary role of the RSL is to provide welfare to its members, the venue has also become a valuable community asset providing a place for everyone in the local community to relax, enjoy good food, entertainment and meet friends. The purpose of this Adventure Lab is to highlight some specific memorials for The Fallen soldiers of some of Australia’s military campaigns that exist in Hampton. Be sure to also look into completing an Adventure Lab waypoint for my other AdLab series “Melbourne Bayside RSL Sub-Branches”. Bonus Cache - GCAGHAN
